The Opportunity:
Oversee all IT architecture domains and manage a team of enterprise, solution, and technical architects. This role focuses on aligning business with technology, driving architectural excellence, and building the enterprise architecture strategy. Help the architecture team grow, mature, and evolve ensuring it is a value-adding and integral component within the organization
This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 3 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.
About The Role:
- Lead and oversee the strategic direction and operational execution of the Enterprise and Solution architecture teams, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals and fostering a high-performance environment.
- Support the Platform Engineering, and Software Delivery teams by providing governance and oversight across technical initiatives within the platform organization.
- Oversee the creation, establishing, promotion, and maintenance of technology standards and governance across the organization.
- Champion the strategic alignment of enterprise and solution architecture to business, product and other areas of the organization.
- Help lines of business in establishing technology roadmaps and modernization strategies
- Engage stakeholders and key partners by providing support and building channels of communication.
- Champion Innovation and Emerging Technologies while balancing that with standardization and existing legacy elements within the organization.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications relevant to Enterprise Architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman), cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) would be considered an asset.
Experience:
- 6-9 years of experience in: Enterprise Architecture, Software and Solution Architecture, Cloud Technology, Software Development and Delivery, Innovation and Emerging Technologies, Enterprise Architecture Frameworks, Quantitative Data.
Skill requirements:
- Passion for working with people, processes, and technology while leading by example to foster a culture of collaboration, team-work, mutual support, excellence, and innovation.
- Deep understanding of enterprise, software, solution architecture – architectural characteristics, trade-offs, best practices, architectural patterns.
- Ability to “Zoom in and Zoom Out” by having a strong understanding of both high-level business concepts as well as deep technical details. Expertise and ability to communicate on any of these levels with different stakeholders.
- Ability to balance innovation, emerging technologies, and creativity with the realities of the business, legacy systems, and standardization.
- Ability and willingness to “roll up the sleeves” and contribute to the creation, documentation, and execution of enterprise architecture initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the software development and delivery process as well as the challenges that software engineering teams face.
- Strong understanding of cloud technology, concepts, and platforms. We use Azure, so familiarity with Azure is a plus. However, the requirement here is for understanding of the general concepts – not necessarily a specific public cloud.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong ability to “sell ideas”, collaborate, negotiate, and influence.
- Ability and willingness to continue learning and applying new learnings to situations where applicable.
- Sharing knowledge and promoting learning and excellence with peers, reports, and superiors.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman as well as the general application of EA in the industry, its challenges, and how it can bring value.
