The Opportunity:
Join our Digital Security Services (DSS) team as a DataOps Analyst, where you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of Symcor’s fraud detection models. This role understands both the data and models for product features supporting the preparation of data, training of models, monitoring of performance and improvements in both accuracy and recall. The success of Digital Security Service (DSS) products is directly related to the accuracy of Symcor’s fraud detection models and client satisfaction, this role is a direct contributor to both of these critical metrics.
This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 2 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.
About The Role:
- Developing tools/code for the purpose of creating, maintaining, improving and supporting data and models related to product features.
- Create reports and presentations about data and models to understand the data and model performance for product features.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients on questions related to both data and models for product features.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong training in Python, with certification in Python being a plus.
Experience:
- 6-9 years in Data Science, Analytics, Fraud Detection, Transaction Monitoring.
- Proficiency in Python and key data science libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn).
- Experience building tools using web technologies like JavaScript, HTML, and PHP.
Skill requirements:
- Expertise in working with large datasets, including ETL processes and handling legacy formats.
- Advanced SQL skills for complex database queries and data management.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Python, and working with applying AI (GenAI, ML) models, is an asset.
- Proven ability to support research, analytics, and product-focused projects.
- Familiarity with payment processing, banking, and transaction workflows.
- Strong track record of developing reliable, well-tested code with minimal bugs.
- Ability to identify patterns and anomalies within extensive datasets.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
- Proactive in meeting deadlines and driving results.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to present findings effectively.
- Competence in conveying data-driven stories in a clear, meaningful way.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, OneNote).
