The Opportunity:

 

This role will provide leadership, direction and management to a team of talented professionals that increases Symcor's ability to deliver value for Clients and Alliance Members by developing and managing fraud and financial crimes risk solutions. The position will be accountable for managing enhancements to existing products, maintaining governance relationships with Alliance Members, creating new value for clients by innovating on new products or services, and supporting Symcor’s growth by managing direct margins.
 

This is a hybrid role with requirements to be on site 2 days a week, providing a balance between remote flexibility and in-person collaboration.

 

About The Role:

 

  • Establish the strategy and vision (with the VP, Product – Digital Security Services) and lead all actions and processes required to ensure the continuing profitability of all assigned products.
  • Engage with clients at senior levels, including SVPs, VPs, Directors to understand client issues and translate that into strategic direction and actions for the fraud and financial crimes risk products.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to lead the team in delivering on a prioritized set of new products and existing product feature enhancements.
  • Lead the Product team to validate assumptions and gauge market desire, by partnering directly with clients, and to assess product viability. 
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to develop and execute on go-to-market (GTM) strategies.
  • Ensure on-going client value and effectiveness of existing assigned products, and lead the market intelligence and strategic planning to outline new product opportunities

  • Define and execute a partner engagement strategy to support growth and create value in  the fraud and financial crimes risk solutions .
  • Champion Symcor’s core values by coaching, developing, and assigning team members to achieve objectives and fulfill mandates.

 

What You Need to Succeed:

 

Education:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is required.
  • An MBA or relevant Master’s degree (e.g., Finance, Data Science, Risk Management) is highly preferred, with a focus on leadership, strategy, risk, or technology.

 

Experience:

 

  • 6 – 9 years of experience in fraud prevention and financial crimes, with a deep understanding of trends and solutions within Canadian and/or global markets.
  • Proven track record of strategy development, product innovation, and product management.

 

Skill requirements:

 

  • Strong product innovation background, with experience launching products from concept to execution.
  • Strong experience launching products that leverage data, with a deep understanding of data challenges and concepts (including data governance, data quality, AI models, and privacy).
  • Strong background in applying risk frameworks, and deep knowledge of payments fraud and financial crimes, is an asset.
  • Familiarity with payment processing, banking, and transaction workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodologies and product development cycles.
  • Experience crafting and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies, including pricing models.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
  • A proven mentor with experience coaching and developing talent.
  • Confident in delivering presentations to senior-level executives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Solid understanding of financial services technology and best practices.
  • Experience managing P&L and driving profitable growth.
