We are currently seeking an energetic and motivated professional to fill the position of Product Manager for our Energy Group. The Product Manager role at Quadra is a blend of marketing and procurement functions. We are looking for a candidate with significant marketing experience and an established network of relationships in chemical markets.

 

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Product Manager will bring professional product management and sourcing expertise to this position to lead the organization while making strategic decisions regarding the product portfolio. This could include sales and marketing strategies, inventory management, supporting the sales team and achieving sales and gross margin goals.

The Product Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Manage key supplier relationships for an international supplier base
  • Identify and provide a reliable and competitive supply of products for targeted markets
  • Build strong, multi-level relationships with suppliers through regular documented visits
  • Responsible for continued market development and sustained profitable growth of product portfolio
  • Central role in working very closely with the corporate sales force and balancing corporate objectives, customer requirements and supplier expectations
  • Be the expert of your key products and markets
  • Manage pricing and maintain price lists
  • Formally evaluate the performance of key suppliers
  • Be present at target industry events (i.e. trade shows, conferences, etc.) to gain market knowledge and awareness.
  • Build strong connections and relationships with the Quadra sales team based on trust, credibility and cooperation
  • Delivering presentations both for internal and external communication (i.e. suppliers, customers, conferences)
  • Being a key contributor to shaping group strategic objectives and achieving the mission statement
  • Spearhead growth in terms of potential new products and target markets
  • Special projects as delegated by the Business Director geared towards the candidate’s key strengths

What requirements are needed to have success in this role?:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, or any related field
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience as a sales professional including progression to a senior level, including managing major accounts
  • Prior exposure to and familiarity with chemical product management or procurement
  • Prior experience with gas processing chemicals and/or materials
  • Experience in the natural gas and/or refining industries
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical elements of chemical performance and recognize commercial opportunities
  • Proven experience in market analysis and development of marketing plans and strategies
  • An understanding of the infrastructure needed to support a product development strategy
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and handle pressure
  • Proven Microsoft Office 365 skills as well as strong CRM skills (Salesforce experience would be an asset)
  • Enthusiastic about contributing to a high-performance culture and accustomed to a fast-paced environment
  • Valid passport & driver’s license; willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of the time (including overnight and international travel)
