Come Grow with us!   We are seeking an experienced Tooling Utility Associate at our TNN1 location in Portland, TN facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
 
Education Requirements:
• Required - High School Diploma or GED
• Required - Must pass fork truck certification @ NASG
• Basic computer skills
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Demonstrated basic math skills 

Experience Requirements:
• Forklift experience required
• Crane training and experience required
• Press experience preferred

Training Requirements
• PMA Press training
• New Hire Orientation
• Forklift training
• TS16949 / ISO14001
• OTJ Baseline training
• Yellow Belt (Six Sigma)
• Lean Process: Introduction to Lean
• Must be willing to complete a Machine Tool Technology course to help prepare the associate for future promotion to Tooling Apprentice.

Principle Duties and/or Responsibilities
• Tow motor inspection at start of the shift.
• Review tool room work order list for priority of dies to bring into shop to wash and stage on open horses or in the die rack in the shop. Keep die horses loaded.
• Wash all dies that have been pulled from the press. Take those that are not required in the shop back to their designated rack.
• Take completed dies back to the rack once the toolmakers have completed repairs and green tagged the dies.
• Assist toolmakers as needed with putting dies back together.
• Maintain & organize die wash area and die racks in the shop.
• Dump scrap hopper for tool room as needed.
• Dump trash cans as needed.
• All other duties as required by the Tooling Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS


Plant:  Various types of manufacturing environments.
• Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. 
• PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas.  Personal attire standards may apply.
• Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc.

The primary job functions involve the ability to stand while operating assembly equipment for extended periods of time.  While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to talk, see, and hear.  The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods and is occasionally required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds.
