POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Senior Finance Specialist – ERP Implementation will play a critical role in supporting the successful implementation and adoption of HomeEquity Bank’s new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Workday. This individual will be instrumental in guiding the Finance team through the transition, ensuring smooth integration of automated processes and financial workflows.

 

Post-implementation, the Senior Finance Specialist will provide hands-on support, training, and troubleshooting, ensuring Finance team members can effectively use Workday for month-end close, financial reporting, and day-to-day operations. They will proactively identify challenges, provide solutions, and work closely with stakeholders to optimize the system and ensure Finance’s long-term success in this transition.

 

MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE:

 

ERP/Workday implementation

  • Assist with migrating financial data from legacy systems into Workday, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and reconciliation throughout the process.
  • Participate in multiple testing phases (e.g., end-user testing, integration testing, regression testing) to identify and resolve issues before go-live.
  • Support the configuration and validation of finance, accounting, and expense processes within Workday, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of Workday with other financial and business systems.
  • Assist in developing training materials and documentation for Finance users to ensure a smooth transition to Workday.
  • Provide support during Workday go-live, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure finance processes are operational with minimal disruptions.

 

Post-Implementation Support 

  • Support Finance team members in adopting Workday, providing hands-on training and troubleshooting to ensure an efficient transition.
  • Perform full cycle accounting tasks, including tracking expenses, managing accruals, and maintaining business assets within Workday.
  • Assist with the automated bank reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy in balance sheet reconciliations and third-party data integrations.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes, identifying and addressing system-related challenges as needed.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Finance, IT, Operations) to gather and validate financial data, resolve issues, and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Provide supporting documentation and prepare schedules for quarterly and annual financial statements, including reconciliation schedules.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends and anomalies, and suggest process improvements or automation opportunities.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, preparing required documentation, reports, and schedules.
  • Assist in ongoing system enhancements, including Workday module upgrades and process refinements to optimize efficiency.
  • Participate in special projects, finance transformation initiatives, and automation efforts as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

 

Qualifications and Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance operations, or financial systems implementation.
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) required.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Workday, Oracle, SAP (Workday experience preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis).
  • Familiarity with financial process automation, system optimization, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting change management and end-user adoption during an ERP transition is an asset.
