ABOUT THE ROLE / WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

 

CARE Canada has a mandate to grow individual giving in 2025 and beyond. We’re looking for you - and your ambition, excitement, and track record - to help inspire Canadians to invest in women’s leadership for a gender-just future.

 

As our Senior Manager, Direct Response (DR) Fundraising, you’ll take a leading role in both 1) acquiring one-time and monthly donors for CARE Canada and 2) ensuring donor development, conversion, and long-term value of all DR donors through donor journey and retention strategies. You’ll work with teams of colleagues, freelancers, and agency partners to meet our ambitious donor acquisition, donor retention, and unrestricted revenue targets.

You'll be part of the Revenue and Marketing team, driving CARE Canada’s externally- facing initiatives, and fundamental to our goal of inspiring Canadians to join us in this journey with a brave and bold voice, innovative partnerships and sustainable, innovative and balanced revenue sources.  

 

Reporting to the Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer, you’ll be responsible for the ownership, planning, execution, and monitoring and evaluation of all mass market, multi-channel giving, both digital and offline. As a key driver of engagement and unrestricted revenue for CARE Canada, your channels will/could include:

 

  • Email
  • Digital (i.e. advertising, lead generation, peer-to-peer)
  • Direct mail
  • Face-to-face giving (door-to-door, mall, street canvassing) 
  • Telemarketing 
  • Voicemail broadcast
  • SMS
  • New channels/enablers to test

 

WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU

 

  • Track record of impact and transformational fundraising in individual giving
  • 7+ years of marketing and fundraising, including the management of email, digital ads, and lead acquisition and conversion campaigns with a proven track record of developing and executing revenue generating campaigns.  
  • 7+ years of experience working with measurement and analytics tools
  • A passion for keeping on top of trends, innovation, optimization, testing, and analysis. 
  • Expert knowledge of direct marketing principles and best practices.  
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills with the ability to craft stories that inspire donors and supporters. 
  • Data-minded and data driven with expert analytics, analysis, and reporting experience. 
  • Knowledge of ethical fundraising guidelines and best practices. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.  
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.  
  • Committed to continued professional development, learning, and growth.  
  • College diploma or university degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.  

 

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

 

  • 3+ years of management experience (direct reports).  
  • Experience in a large, complex organization (non-profit experience preferred).  
  • Strong analytical skills.  
  • Team player with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently.  
  • A keen interest in the work and mission of CARE Canada. 
  • Knowledge of receipting rules and guidelines for digital and offline donations per the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). 
  • Knowledge of cutting-edge digital fundraising tools considered an asset.
  • Expertise with graphic design software 
  • English essential, French and other languages are considered an asset.  

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Starting salary range between $100,000 - $110,000
