The Emergency Roadside Service (ERS) department is looking for a Dispatcher to join the team and assist our contact centre and roadside heroes. The Dispatcher must have the ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously, remain professional and productive under pressure, and analyze situations quickly and deliver effective decisions. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

To be seriously considered for the role, please have the following:

 

  • 2+ years in a customer service (preferably contact centre) environment
  • Experience working as a dispatcher is considered a strong asset
  • Extensive knowledge of the Niagara Region and it’s geographical area
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of transportation and safety regulations
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality
  • Strong decision-makers with the ability to think on their feet
  • Ability to support our 24/7 operation and work flexible shifts and hours

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

As a CAA Niagara Dispatcher, you will be supporting our contact centre with the following duties, including by not limited to:

 

  • Dispatch roadside assistance requests in a timely manner to ERS drivers using a variety of communication channels
  • Make sound decisions and take direct applicable action when routing our ERS drivers to members
  • Monitor any sudden changes or issues and establish new routes to ensure timely arrival to our members
  • Communicate effectively with our ERS drivers to efficiently dispatch them to our members
  • Comply with all health and safety practices as it related to work, standard operating procedures and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Act as a back-up support for our contact centre representatives as required
