How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
The Payroll Assistant is responsible for supporting the accurate collection, verification and processing bi-weekly payroll. This role supports benefits administration for the TRCA.
Major Responsibilities:
- Supports payroll system administration and quality assurance and control with a focus on accuracy.
- Supports data integrity in the payroll system by conducting regular report audits; takes action to identify and address discrepancies.
- Processes all employee group health benefits enrolments, changes, and terminations.
- Documents and communicates all employee benefits changes to the benefits provider.
- Provides various reports to internal and external stakeholders.
What will you need to succeed:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
- Completion of college diploma in Payroll, Business Commerce, Accounting, or a related field
Experience
- 1+ years of payroll and/or benefits related experience.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability – Competencies
- Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct)
- Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy.
- Demonstrates responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and needs.
- Basic computer proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
