How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:

The Payroll Assistant is responsible for supporting the accurate collection, verification and processing bi-weekly payroll. This role supports benefits administration for the TRCA.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports payroll system administration and quality assurance and control with a focus on accuracy.
  • Supports data integrity in the payroll system by conducting regular report audits; takes action to identify and address discrepancies.
  • Processes all employee group health benefits enrolments, changes, and terminations.
  • Documents and communicates all employee benefits changes to the benefits provider.
  • Provides various reports to internal and external stakeholders.

 

What will you need to succeed:

Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)

  • Completion of college diploma in Payroll, Business Commerce, Accounting, or a related field

 

Experience

  • 1+ years of payroll and/or benefits related experience.

 

Knowledge/Skill/Ability – Competencies

  • Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and needs.
  • Basic computer proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
