POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR intern will be an integral part of the Toronto Polytainers HR team. The HR Co-op/Intern will support the HR team in a wide array of duties, assisting in an administrative and co-ordination capacity, in areas such as recruiting communication events and social events. For the Fall term, in addition to the HR support role, the HR Co-op/Intern will be primarily responsible for the conversion of hard copy employee files to an e-filing system following an established protocol.
Working hour: 8am-4:30pm, 30min unpaid lunch
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
- The primary role of the winter/summer term HR Co-op/Intern will be to complete the conversion of all hard copy Salary employee files to our e-filing system
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the e-filing
- Ensure that all naming and description protocols are strictly followed in the e-filing system
- This role will be given access to the Recruitment module in our HCM system, Dayforce
- Assist the HR team with screenings and de-selection of candidates in the recruitment module of Dayforce
- Assist the HRBP’s and HR Associate with scheduling and coordination of interviews and recruitment follow ups
- Assist the HRBP’s and the HR Associate with verification of resume details and reference checking
- Assist the HR Coordinator and other HR team members with set up, running and closing of shop floor Communication meetings as needed
- Assist the HR Coordinator and other HR team members with set up, running and closing of shop floor Social Committee events as needed
- Support HR projects and programs as required
- Assist the Senior Health and Safety Specialist in the administration of WSIB documents and forms
- Answer general HR related inquiries and assisting team members when able to and seek out answers where appropriate.
- Help with the preparation of new hire documentation and ensuring all onboarding materials are in order.
- Assist with scanning new hire documentation and organizing it in accordance with filing protocols.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, feedback collection, and coordinating team-building activities.
- Assist as a resource to answer phones and receive visitors (reception duties) on an occasional/as needed basis
- Additional duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned from time to time.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Educational Requirements: Currently in an HR postgraduate or undergraduate program
Experience Requirements: Prior experience in a manufacturing environment would be as asset
Additional Education/Experience/Skills:
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, be a proactive thinker, and results-oriented team player
