Shift Hours: Monday to Friday; 1:30pm – 10:30pm
What Will You Do?
- Lead and oversee the dispatch team to ensure timely and efficient load assignments.
- Take a proactive approach and plan loads to arrive on time to improve overall service.
- Coordinate driver schedules, routes, and freight movement while maximizing productivity.
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, addressing concerns and troubleshooting issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
- Monitor and track shipments, proactively addressing any delays or disruptions.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipment status and service expectations.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Customer Service.
- Train and mentor dispatch staff to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for dispatch activities.
- Utilize dispatch software and technology to optimize workflow and tracking.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Minimum of 3 years of dispatch experience in the transportation industry, preferably in temperature-controlled freight.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team coordination and customer service.
- Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data and make real-time decisions to improve operational efficiency.
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education in logistics or a related field is an asset.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
