Title: Lead Animator 
Reports to: Animation Director 

Permanent – Full-Time   
 
What you will do    

  • Develop the artistic direction of the animations for the game following the narrative and the game experience; 
  • Elaborate the visual references of the animation direction which will be used as a guide for the animation team to maintain required standards of quality; 
  • If needed, evaluate outsourcing options for animations; 
  • Identify outsourcing companies in partnership with the Producer; 
  • Work closely with Game Designers to assess their needs in animation and the production timelines; 
  • Work closely with the Art/Animation Direction to ensure the vision is followed. 
  • Evaluate and communicate the animation direction in the tasks done by the animation team, while distributing tasks according to individual abilities; 
  • Participate in yearly performance evaluation. 

 

What you bring    

  • Diploma in 3D animation or equivalent experience; 
  • At least 5 years experience in 3D animation, at least 3 years as a Lead Animation; 
  • Experience in directing motion capture sessions; 
  • Versatile and exceptional mastering skills in 3D animation; 
  • Excellent knowledge of human anatomy physiological reactions, body language and proportions in character design; 
  • Working knowledge of hardware platform limitations; 
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine;
  • Knowledge in Animation software such as Motion Builder, Face Fx and Maya.
