BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA has an opening for a Material Controls Superintendent. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.



The candidate will be responsible for:

 

  • Providing guidance and oversight to a team of employees.  
  • Ensuring and maintaining cleanliness in all BIOVECTRA warehouse facilities.
  • Receiving materials (raw material, consumables, and equipment) in a safe and timely manner.
  • Receiving and unloading bulk solvent deliveries.
  • Sampling of incoming raw materials.
  • Material segregation and quarantine actions.
  • Supporting month-end, quarterly and year end physical inventory counts.
  • Fulfilling and supporting all material staging requests to support manufacturing.
  • Receiving and storage of work in progress (WIP), intermediate and finished goods from manufacturing.
  • Scheduling supplier owned drums, totes, pallets and cylinders returns.
  • Completing all required warehouse documentation consistently, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Supporting waste management systems including storage, transportation, and filing of waste manifests.
  • Daily monitoring of inbound raw material and consumables with weekly warehouse load level updates and exception reports to Planning and Operations.
  • Performing all administrative requirements for Warehouse and Materials Control Associates.
  • Acting as supervisor in warehouse managers’ absence.
  • Working with inventory control to define, document, and improve routing procedures.
  • Maintaining and improving material receiving performance metrics.
  • Adhering to all quality, regulatory and safety operating requirements.
  • Maintaining FIFO for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) as required.
  • Supporting the retest program on a monthly basis.
  • Entering and maintaining required data in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Performing and maintaining assigned daily housekeeping duties.
  • Completing and maintaining TDG training for all Warehouse and Materials Control Associates.
  • Assisting with quality documentation maintenance and improvements.

 
The successful candidate for this position should have:

 

  • Post-Secondary Education (supply chain or chemical technical diploma preferred).
  • Two years of warehouse supervisory and/or logistical experience.
  • One year working in an ERP environment.
  • Three years warehouse, material handling and shipping experience.
  • Experience with cGMP standards considered an asset.
  • Experience in an API manufacturing setting considered an asset.
  • Proficient communicator, both written and oral.
  • Must possess excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Efficient at prioritization and scheduling
  • Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritize workloads.
  • Excellent computer skills including ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and interchange when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
  • WHMIS/HMIS Forklift and TDG training are considered an asset.
