About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our APAC Development team as a Senior. Manager, Business Development based in Singapore.  

The Senior Manager, Business Development is a pivotal role within the Asia Pacific Development team responsible for driving profitable and sustainable store network growth across the region. The role enables markets to realize their full potential by leading Market Planning, determining the right growth strategies, driving profitable growth by analyzing key Development indicators, and enabling Development process excellence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Growth Strategy and Financial Modelling:
    • Drive profitable and sustainable growth by determining the right geographic, asset, trade area, and site selection strategies
    • Lead Development analyses on critical areas such as new store performance, network health, closure risk mitigation and remodeling impact
    • Develop investment models and ROI analyses for proposed Development initiatives
    • Explore new asset models and drive new business development

 

  • Market Planning and Sustainable System Growth:
    • Support delivery of key Development KPIs: Net Restaurant Growth (NRG), Remodels
    • Lead Market Planning and quantify full APAC growth potential by leveraging on tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and key macroeconomic indicators
    • Determine optimal pace of growth by assessing Master Franchisee business models, network health and competitive landscape

 

  • Pipeline Management and Process Discipline:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Master Franchisee Development teams and partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration of new locations into the broader network
    • Drive process excellence in the rolling 12-36 month store development pipelines, ensuring linkage to the GIS market plan, with balanced development throughout the calendar year
    • Ensure all asset actions (new site / relocation / closures) and execution conform to Subway APAC processes, standards, and guidelines

  • Master Franchisee Capability Building:
    • Build Master Franchisee Development team capability via onboarding, training, conferences and periodic market visits
    • Recommend organizational, capability and process improvements through benchmarking studies
    • Identify and deploy regional and global best practices

 

 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Real Estate, or similar related field.
    • Master’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a functional experience: Strategy, Development, Commercial, Planning or M&A role
    • Industry experience: Strategy Consulting, QSR, Retail, FMCG or Real Estate are relevant
    • Prior experience in Asia Pacific required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
  • Logical and structured approach to problem-solving
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities
  • Technical Proficiencies required; Software (Microsoft Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize workload and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented
  • Interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills with a self-motivated attitude to work.
  • Language requirements: Fluent in English – Language proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Korean is highly desirable.
