Manager, Wireline Operations
As the Manager of Wireline Operations, you will be required to perform various duties related to the general oversight of project execution and customer relations for Fiber Projects across Alberta. The Manager's duties include initiating and maintaining client relationships, securing projects, working with clients to identify and address needs, communicating client needs to the site, and ensuring the needs are addressed effectively. Experience in wireline aerial and underground telecommunications construction, including horizontal directional drilling, aerial line work, and fiber splicing, is required. This position requires complete understanding and active participation in fulfilling the organization's mission. Job Duties
- Oversee the initiation, progress, and completion of projects.
- Understand and implement contract requirements.
- Identify and pursue new and existing client projects.
- Hire, train, and retain employees for project execution.
- Coach, mentor, and engage with all employees.
- Prepare project quotes and estimates using high-level guidelines for project pricing.
- Negotiate contracts, quotes, etc., with clients and subcontractors.
- Develop and manage project budget, scheduling, cash flow, and site logistics.
- Oversee billing and invoicing processes to ensure timely submissions and turnaround.
- Provide timely and practical solutions to problems.
- Communicate client needs accurately to the team.
- Proactively work with clients to prevent problems, answer questions, and develop relationships.
- Understand and implement WesTower’s Health and Safety guidelines, including running site orientations, conducting audits, and developing crisis management plans.
- Prepare technical documents, including risk registry, monthly reports, and IPR.
- Chair meetings and conduct presentations for leadership, clients, and teams.
- Plan and execute meetings between teams and clients.
- Analyze existing procedures and identify improvements that will positively impact productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and champion the rollout of new safety processes and tools, setting a positive example of a safety culture.
- Ensure and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent. Technical Diploma or Degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the telecommunications construction industry.
- Proven ability to set priorities and adeptly avoid crisis management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in practical work and task prioritization, remaining composed in urgent situations, strategic planning, and organizational skills, including experience in change management and conflict resolution.
- Strong competence in professionalism, organizational, analytical, and technical skills, and the knowledge to fulfill duties and responsibilities.
- Firm belief in the advantages of a vital Health and Safety culture and the capability to contribute to its success.
- Exceptional skills in fostering and maintaining effective relationships with clients, customers, and teammates, along with the ability to exercise initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making while managing diverse teams.

- Proficiency in using computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
