As a Talent Acquisition Partner, you’ll play a critical role in strengthening the operational excellence and patient care of our clinics by finding and securing the best veterinary talent. We're looking for a trailblazer—someone who isn't afraid to carve out new paths, take ownership, and go the extra mile.
As a member of our People Team, you’ll collaborate cross-departmentally to identify and attract the best talent for our clinics, prioritizing both skills and cultural fit.
Veterinarians are at the core of our business and based on our model of respecting medical autonomy, they play a critical part in the delivery of our services in terms of quality patient care and excellent client service. In this role, you will establish and build relationships with different stakeholders in the industry to create credibility and trust, become the point of contact for all veterinarian candidates in your assigned territory, and ensure the right fit between candidates and clinics.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Own the Process: Partner with veterinary clinics to identify their hiring needs and manage the end-to-end recruitment process.
- Find the Best: Source, engage, and select top veterinarian talent using a high-touch, relationship-focused approach, including domestic and international candidates.
- Build Partnerships Internally: Work cross-functionally with our People Team to ensure a seamless hiring process, prioritizing skills and team fit.
- Build Partnerships Externally: Establish, maintain and manage relationships with additional recruiting support, such as associations, universities/colleges, researchers and search firms.
- Be the Go-To Contact: Establish strong, credible relationships with candidates and hiring managers alike, becoming the trusted face of our recruitment process.
- Brand Ambassador: Act as VetStrategy brand ambassador by representing the company at identified networking and industry events, job fairs, conferences, campus recruiting, etc., to tell our story and promote our culture.
- Engagement: Provide an excellent candidate experience by establishing a relationship, maintaining continuous communication, sending invitations to and attending events.

Must-Haves
- Negotiation Skills: Able to navigate offer discussions to secure the best talent.
- Relevant Recruitment Experience: 2+ years of experience in recruitment, ideally with full-cycle recruiting.
- HR work experience: 2+ years of experience.
- Organizational Skills: A master of managing time and priorities to meet hiring goals.
- LinkedIn Recruiter Expertise and Job Posting Boards: Confident in using LinkedIn Recruiter to find and engage candidates.
- Job Ad Creation: Skilled in crafting compelling job ads that attract the right talent.
- Communications Skills: Have a natural ability to communicate with others and are a people person.
- Presentation Skills: Able to present opportunities and company culture effectively to candidates and stakeholders.
- Brand Ambassador: Represent our brand with confidence, building a positive reputation in the industry, highlight our company's vibrant culture and exciting opportunities.
- Storyteller: Craft and share the unique stories of our clinics, showcasing what makes them a great place to work. Through your storytelling, you'll inspire candidates to see themselves in the next step of their career at a new veterinary practice.
- Outside-the-Box Thinker: Use creativity to find innovative sourcing solutions and engage with talent in unique ways.
- Autonomous: Proven ability to work independently and as a team member (remotely and in-person).
Nice-to-Haves
- Bilingual: Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
- Veterinary Industry Experience: Familiarity with the veterinary field adds great value.
- Location: Established and well-versed in the Nova Scotia or New Brunswick provinces.

Additional Requirements
- Willingness to Travel: Up to 20% travel required to connect with clinics, candidates, and industry partners.
