Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Manager, Human Resources is a trusted advisor and strategic business partner, driving initiatives that impact employee engagement and culture, organizational effectiveness, organizational change, talent acquisition, performance management and operational efficiency.  The Manager provides best practice generalist human resources services to the senior leadership team, managers, and employees and other clients, in Canada and the U.S.  The Manager provides superior customer service to all stakeholders.

 

Primary Accountabilities:

 

  1. Talent Acquisition:
    • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process through Dayforce, including proactive development of candidate pipeline.
    • Work directly with hiring manager to finalize job descriptions and position postings.
    • Support Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives through proactive sourcing approaches.
  2. Compensation:
    • Lead the year-end compensation cycle, including the bonus and salary administration process.
    • Implement the Dayforce Compensation module to manage the compensation process.
    • Conduct market research and oversee salary survey participation.
    • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  3. Performance Management:
    • Support the performance management program to build a high-performing team and culture.
    • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance through coaching.
  4. Culture and Engagement:
    • Assist leadership in driving employee engagement and enhancing employee experience.
    • Lead Employee Surveys, including pulse, onboarding, and offboarding.
    • Align recruitment, retention, engagement, performance, and development initiatives with Trez’s strategic goals.
  5. Employee Benefits (Canada and U.S):
    • Oversee benefits management for employees in both Canada and the U.S., ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practice.
    • Manage the annual review and renewal process in Canada and the U.S., including open enrollment.
    • Provide day-to-day support for benefit inquiries and manage administration process.
  1. Onboarding and Offboarding
    • Facilitates and coordinates the onboarding and offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for employees.
    • Conduct orientation and required training for new hires (e.g. Respectful Workplace, AODA).
    • Manage exit interviews and offboarding process to gather feedback and insights.
  2. HR Metrics and Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain HR dashboards to track key HR metrics, including recruitment, retention, and employee engagement.
  3. HRIS Maintenance (Dayforce):
    • Manage and maintain the HRIS (Dayforce), ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.
    • Oversee system updates, troubleshooting, and enhancements to improve HR processes.
    • Ensure compliance with HRIS data integrity and reporting requirements.
  4. Human Resources Policies, Processes and Training:
    • Draft, update, and implement policies as needed.
    • Maintain the Canadian and U.S. Employee Handbooks, conducting annual reviews and responding to policy enquiries.
    • Lead annual HR training programs (e.g., Respectful Workplace, AODA).
    • Provide support in areas such as policy interpretation and HR procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  1. Payroll and Benefits:
  • Supports the payroll function, as required.
  • Provide backup to Payroll.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in a related field,
  •  7 - 10 years of progressive HR Business Partner or Human Resources Generalist experience
  • CPHR or SHRM designation. 
  • Experience working with jurisdictions in the US is an asset.
