Business Development Manager (Inside Sales)

Job Purpose:

The Business Development Manager works directly with the Regional VP, Capital Raising, to identify, build, develop and strengthen advisor relationships within a specific territory to achieve significant gross and net sales results.  The Business Development Manager has a specific focus on significant and proactive territory prospecting, while maintaining existing advisor relationships, in partnership with the Regional VP, Capital Raising.

 

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Collaborates with Managing Director, National Retail Sales and the Regional VP, Sales, to execute an annual and quarterly territory business plans focused on a team-based approach to the development and strengthening of long-term relationships with financial advisors and driving sales results.
  • Proactively prospects/identifies financial advisors who are interested in Trez funds and open to incorporating Trez funds into their book of business; understands the goals, expectations and needs of advisors by utilizing a question based selling methodology.
  • Books meetings for the Regional VP, Sales with qualified financial advisors who are interested in incorporating Trez products into client portfolios.
  • Initiates and/or follows up on sales calls on a timely basis, identifying new sales opportunities and answering questions about Trez products.
  • Provides sales strategies, concepts, marketing ideas and support to financial advisors, in collaboration with the Managing Director, National Retail Sales and Regional VP, Sales.
  • Maintains a comprehensive understanding of Trez funds, market trends, advisor trends and investor trends.
  • Collaborates with the Managing Director, National Retail Sales and Regional VP, Sales, to develop an annual and quarterly business plans which includes marketing initiatives, sales penetration goals and territory coverage plans.
  • Acts as a Sales resource for the Regional VP, Sales during vacation or other absences.
  • Updates daily call activities and maintains accurate records within salesforce.com.
  • Achieves annual activity productivity targets in the areas of proactive calls, Know Your Advisor information and meetings booked, as established by the Head of Capital Raising and the Managing Director, National Retail Sales.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • College or university degree in a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of sales/marketing/call center experience in the financial services industry is an asset.
  • Bi-lingual in English and French (written and spoken)
  • Completion of CSC, CIM, CFA, CFP, and MBA are assets.

  • Computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience administering and working with Salesforce.
