About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Technology team as a Sr. Mobile Development Manager - Android based in Shelton, CT or Miami, FL. The Sr. Mobile Development Manager is an experienced leader and mobile expert responsible for overseeing the planning, development, delivery and maintenance of Subway's Android eCommerce applications.  Leads a team of developers and testers to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and at a high level of quality.  Supports the growth of the development team as a whole and at an individual level.  Works closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute the mobile application roadmap.  Serves as the product line subject matter expert from both a business and technical perspective.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including product managers, project managers, designers and backend engineers to design, define and deliver new product features and updates to our existing Android mobile and kiosk application.
  • Prioritize, schedule and delegate ticket assignments to both onshore and offshore developers.
  • Ensure technical solutions remain at a high level of quality by implementing and enforcing coding standards, conducting constructive code reviews and providing design guidance to team members.
  • Work with QA and support teams to identify and resolve defects and performance bottlenecks.
  • Identify technical debt and provide suggested timelines to resolve.
  • Assist in defining career goals for team members and executed annual performance reviews against those goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent experience required.
  • Android development certification preferred.
  • 7+ years' experience as an Android Software Developer.
  • Proven experience as an Android engineer, with a strong understanding of Android app development, frameworks, and APIs.
  • Experience with large-scale software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with Agile Development and a strong sense of Agile Methodologies
  • 3-5 years of management experience. Managed a medium mobile software development team in the delivery of medium size technical solutions using agile methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skill in order to provide guidance and support to development teams.
  • Strong technical background and significant experience with SDLC in an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound technical decisions.
  • Ability to take ownership and drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
