Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this individual will perform regular inspections and repair, replace or maintain work when necessary to prevent breakdowns and major overhauls on mechanical plant equipment on shift.
Please note: This role requires rotating shifts and weeks - 2/2/3 schedule with rotating days and nights at 12 hours a day (one week would be 48 hours and the next week would be 36 hours)
Key Accountabilities
- Ensures compliance with TSSA regulations.
- Maintains repairs, troubleshoots electrical problem, routine preventive maintenance, install and repair water/drainage piping, compressed air piping repairs, ammonia piping system repairs.
- Checks and replaces mechanical components and controls.
- Ensure proper use and storage of approved chemicals.
- Follows GMP rules and GMP for Maintenance rules while performing repairs and PM tasks
- Ensures temporary repairs are done in a manner that does not create potential food safety hazards
- Informs Sanitation or Production when repairs are completed so that proper sanitation of surfaces can be completed.

Qualifications
- Valid 3rd Class Operating Engineer/Refrigeration B Operator or Class A Operator
- Must be proficient in use of all mechanical hand tools and power tools
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints
