Supervisor, Production - PM

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the incumbent is responsible for supervising production operations.  The successful candidate will be expected to deliver programs for safety, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service and cost. As part of the Plant’s leadership team, this position is accountable to contribute to building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

• Providing effective leadership and direction to hourly employees within the framework of the Company’s policies and/or the collective bargaining agreement ensuring consistency in dealing with employee relations and labour relations
• Ensures product is handled according to good manufacturing processes, CFIA regulations and HAACP protocols and Customer quality specifications.
• Ownership of the production area to exceed and deliver on key performance indicators for safety, regulatory compliance, environment, quality, customer service and cost.
• Responsible for resource allocation and ability to lead and mentor the team to achieve operational excellence
• Communication and an on-going reinforcement of production performance indicators/requirements and results
• Accountable for ensuring the Health & Safety of all employees by utilizing tools such as regular safety talks, administering first aid, prompt and detailed incident investigations and follow up on recommended corrections.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Leadership experience.
• Knowledge of food safety and workplace safety [GMP and HACCP] an asset.
• Knowledge and application of continuous improvement initiatives an asset.
• Post-secondary education preferred.
• Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule.
• Effective communication, organization and motivational skills with a proven ability to lead and influence.
