WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As an In-Store Visual Merchandising Manager you will be responsible for consistently bringing the culture of the brand to life through product placement, inventory management, merchandising, window execution and display. You are an individual who is a champion of standards and merchandising and will take all opportunities to grow and develop the team around them. Customer experience and navigation is a top priority when executing the visual, commercial and styling curation in accordance to the Visual Merchandising & Standards team guidelines for stores. Fostering a consistent Brand identity, unity and experience is top of mind. The In-store Visual Merchandising Manager will partner with the store manager to enhance the store experience for the customer while maintaining and implementing the brand standards, in conjunction with support from the District Manager. Your responsibilities will also include store visit walk-thru’s, analyzing reports, photo sharing and direct communication/coaching.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with store leadership to bring VM presentation and guest experience to life on the floor, keep the customer at the forefront of all decision making fostering brand loyalty.
  • Optimize the customer experiences through consistent implementation of brand standards in key product stories, product placement strategies, and intuitive store navigation for a consistent Brand experience. Parter with store manager to map out product flow and floor plan execution in conjunction with Head Office provided direction to optimize results and ensure effective execution of all store operational activities.
  • Contributes visual ideas and solutions to the leadership team that results in increased productivity and improved operations of the store.
  • Support and lead inventory management and product flow for optimal customer experience and sales volume targets.
  • Contribute to the total OMNI customer experience in your store by ensuring visual and commercial curation according to guidelines. This includes regularly executing window directives, monthly floor-sets, mannequin styling, signage implementation and displays
  • Conduct  weekly business walkthroughs with Store Manager and monthly business walkthroughs with DM’s.
  • Oversee stockroom systems, structures and support the store’s replenishment and markdown systems
  • Work in collaborative relationship with Store Manager to provide continuous staff training on Roots culture, visual standards, and merchandising.
  • Coach, teaching and develop the Store team´s visual merchandising and standards skills to secure high quality product presentation according to guidelines. Support & develop daily routines and best practices for your Store team to always ensure a consistent level of visual standard while maintaining customer service engagement; finding a healthy balance between the two.
  • Oversees and delegates tasks to team to best maximize efficiency of store operations.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide support to their Store Manager and District Manager through store reports, product assortment and placement, photo sharing and direct communication.
  • Sales report (KPIs) follow-up, identify and prioritize visual & commercial opportunities in collaboration with Store Management team and make appropriate business critical decisions.
  • Executes all in-store window installations and merchandising roll outs and make sure they meet company standards and guidelines that are outlined from the head office visual department
  • Take ownership of all floor-set and window execution photo submissions on Compass/Yoobic app on behalf of the store, and/or in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Support in specified visual merchandising projects determined by the District Manager, such as New Store Openings, Closings or large activations.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Fashion management and/or fashion merchandising diploma or work-related experience
  • 3 + years of experience in a retail apparel industry
  • Previous experience in a leadership role
  • Excellent fashion awareness and strong understanding of current market trends.
  • Understanding of Roots heritage and a commitment/passion for the brand.
  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven changing environment with a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to travel to stores and have a valid drivers license.
  • Ability to work flexible hours that could include weekends and night shifts during peak periods.
