Design Engineering Summer Student (4-month Term)

SolutionAir is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Student - Mechanical Design to join our engineering team. This position provides hands-on experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and validation of components. The successful candidate will support ongoing engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and standardization in our design processes.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

• Create CAD models for new designs and features.
• Contribute to the development of standard models for engineering use.
• Document and refine design standards to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
• Build and organize a library of standard CAD models for mechanical and electrical components.

• Observe and audit production assembly to ensure design feasibility and troubleshoot issues.
• Provide feedback to the engineering team for potential design improvements based on production observations.
• Participate in weekly engineering review meetings to discuss ongoing projects and design updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and procurement teams.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or related program at an accredited university or college.
• Experience or coursework in CAD modeling (SolidWorks or similar software).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical components.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
