The Role
As our team continues to expand, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our dynamic group of engineers while managing the engineering department. In this role, you will oversee a team of 5–7 engineers, working closely with our applications engineering and support teams to deliver robust and reliable controllers that drive customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Lead and mentor a diverse and talented team of engineers to achieve their full potential.
- Oversee end-to-end product development, guiding the team through all stages of project execution.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to define and manage feature requirements that align with customer needs.
- Partner with our Operations team to ensure smooth design changes and seamless product releases into production.
- Optimize processes and introduce new tools to improve efficiency and workflow.
- Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up-to-date with the latest development tools, technology, and industry trends.
- Manage multiple projects, balancing flexibility and prioritization in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Drive the team with a focus on strategic vision, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Hire, train, and manage team performance, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
- Conduct budget planning and report on departmental performance metrics.
- Champion design verification testing, ensuring thorough test coverage and mentoring the team in best practices.
- Manage testing spaces and equipment to maintain the highest standards of performance.
- Inspire a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- A degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on design experience within an engineering team.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Expertise in software development with proficiency in C and/or C++ programming.
- Embedded hardware design experience is a strong asset.
- A commitment to customer service excellence and an aptitude for problem-solving.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- A business mindset, including experience with product cost analysis.
- Strong critical thinking and accountability, with a talent for simplifying complex problems.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making with a bias toward action.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, enabling you to connect with stakeholders at all levels.
