What we are looking for: Postmedia Editorial Services has an opening for an accomplished editor used to working in a fast-paced newspaper environment. Our Quality Control Editor must have a keen eye for detail and ensure the highest quality of work is being produced. She/he will be equally at home editing arts, sports and news copy or reshaping display type. The successful applicant is expected to balance accuracy and speed and be fully accountable for their work. She/he will be a savvy communicator, able to give and receive instruction with grace, and to coach and supervise in a respectful and supportive remote environment.

⦁    Excellent grammar, comprehension and editing skills;
⦁    Strong organizational skills with good attention to detail;
⦁    Experience in a fast-paced daily newsroom;
⦁    Deadline driven, able to switch gears on a moment’s notice.
⦁    Accurately copy edit, and paginate as needed.
⦁    Good interpersonal communication skills;
⦁    Ability to resolve conflict and solve problems;
⦁    Proficiency in CP style;
⦁    Experience slotting a daily newspaper;
⦁    Strong design sense
⦁    Candidates should have a solid understanding of InDesign and InCopy. Familiarity with Saxotech is preferred. 

Postmedia Editorial Services operates seven days per week, and applicants must be prepared to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
