You will lead the great team of Safety Services Officers at Panorama. This is a full time position supervising and performing tasks to ensure a maximum level of protection, safety and comfort to the guests utilizing the facilities at Panorama, the staff, and the Mountain Village itself.
Essential Functions:
Supervisory
- Supervise the essential functions of Safety Services Officers (SSO’s).
- Assist with Scheduling (SSO’s).as per changing shift requirements.
- Supervise team response to Fire Alarms/Security/Emergency calls while on regular security shift and complete incidents when required.
- Complete knowledge of Report Exec ™ Incident Reporting Software including:
- Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Summary reporting.
- Regular statistical measurement and review.
- Accident and Incident Investigation and review.
- Supervision of Safety Service Officers reports.
- Complete knowledge of the Ving Card ™ Access Control System including:
- Regular maintenance of the Ving Card ™ Access Control System.
- Programming, issuing, and monitoring of Master Key Cards.
- Lock and System interrogation and reporting as required.

- Supervise incident and accident investigation program.
- Establish and maintain effective liaison with outside emergency services.
- Work closely with all departments to create a safe and secure environment and exceed customer expectations.
- Development of on-going training programs and front-line training / mentoring of SSO’s.
- To be Health & Safety Conscious and actively involved in maintaining the Resort Health & Safety Program.
- Responsible for correct usage and troubleshooting of the CCTV.
- Supervise and maintain first aid, eyewash stations parking and fire extinguishers programs.
Front Line
- Carry out patrols of the property on a regular basis.
- Physically check all locked doors and secure required areas.
- Frequently check parking garages, storage areas and public areas to provide a deterrent to theft, vandalism, excessive noise or problem areas.
- Identify and report any Security, Fire, or Safety Hazards on the property.
- Respond to Fire, First Aid, Disturbances, or other emergencies as required.
- Participate in the First Aid coverage for the resort on a regular shift basis, providing first aid to guests and staff when required.
- Complete detailed incident and accident investigations as required.
- Assist guests, management and staff when practical.
- Perform regular security audits of company property to identify potential weaknesses.
- Provide daily written reports and incident investigations to the Safety Services Manager.
- Carryout wildlife control activities.
- Enforce company and strata policy and regulations.
- Anticipate potential problems and customer concerns.
- Respond to and solve customer problems.
- Assist Front Desk when required.
- Be Health & Safety Conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Assist ski and bike patrol when required.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Responsibility for Others:
- Supervision of safety services staff (4-6)
- Provides first aid to guests and staff.
Experience/Requirements:
Formal Education:
- High School
- Security College Course/Diploma or equivalent experience
- BC Occupational First Aid Level III (OFA3)
- Firefighter I or II an asset
Job Experience:
- 2+ years experience in the fields of security, first aid, and a supervisor position
Special Skills/Equipment:
- Excellent communication and people skills
