Packaging - Packaging Technician
Status: Full-time, Permanent
Reports to: Packaging and Sanitation Supervisor
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Packaging and Sanitation Supervisor, our ideal candidate will be a motivated individual
who displays strong attention to detail, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive,
professional attitude in a fast paced and changing work environment. The role of the Line Operator is to
handle the safety, quality and productivity of the equipment and ensure tasks are done to schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup line for operation; Align materials and adjust equipment parameters according to the product to be manufactured and
- Ensure it meets specific specification;
- Start line and adjust when necessary to improve performance and efficiency;
- Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions;
- Troubleshoot issues and perform basic maintenance;
- Perform quality control. Verify and inspect product quality, follow reporting and recordkeeping
- procedures, and report problems to shift lead;
- Comply with all safety and health regulations;
- Clean equipment and maintain cleanliness in work area;
- Weigh, record, and move waste product to the destruction cage in accordance with outlined SOP’s;
- Report any issues to manufacturing shift lead;
- Always work to GMP and Food Safety rules;
- Handle and store materials and products in accordance with SOP’;
- Complete reports accurately and in a timely manner; conduct quality checks on packaging line
- Minimize daily product waste; such as consumables, labels, pouches, gummies, etc.
- Identify to be cleaned utensils/parts with proper “dirty” tags and deliver to sanitation room for cleaning
- in a timely manner;
- Utilize a proactive approach as it relates to daily operation, maintenance, adjustments, cleaning, and
- planning for success;
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Willingness to learn and take direction;
• Ability to act as line specialist;
• Good communication skills;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Critical eye for troubleshooting defects with a commitment to quality and safety;
• Flexibility to work extended hours and shift work as required;
• Physically fit with an ability to meet physical demands including lifting to 50 lbs., reaching, bending,
walking, climbing, standing, and performing repetitive work
