POSITION: Reservations Specialist

REPORTING TO:   Reservations Manager/ Supervisor/ Team Lead

JOB SUMMARY:  

Under the general direction of the Reservations Manager, Supervisor and/or Team Lead, the Reservations Specialist is the first point of contact for all STHS clients. The Specialist will handle STHS clients’ heli ski package reservations, including but not limited to: taking them through the booking process, assisting with guest service while they are in-house, and following up after their package is complete.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• The Reservations Specialist will understand, promote and book the complete suite of STHS products: Day Heli, Multiday, Private packages and Heli Assisted Touring.
• Maintain professional communications with all clients and wholesale agents in a timely fashion by phone and email.
• Coordinate booking inquiries, ensuring all booking requirements and documentation are completed. This includes email communications, invoicing and payments for trips, and payment receipts.
• Ensure the onsite elements of STHS skiing programs are efficiently coordinated (ie. food & beverage, transport, accommodation requirements, daily logistics) and communicated as needed to both clients and STHS staff.
• Will provide clients with information about Selkirk Tangiers, Revelstoke, local activities, getting to/from Revelstoke/STHS, hotels and other tourism information as needed.
• Auditing all bookings at the beginning and end of the season.
• Filing waivers and relevant booking paperwork throughout the season.
• Maintain a safety conscious workplace, adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures. Includes involvement in emergency response plans if required.
• General housekeeping duties within the office such as garbage and recycling. Keeping the office clean by vacuuming and light dusting of work areas to be shared amongst the team.
• Duties/tasks outside of normal responsibilities and in other departments such as Guest Services, Admin & Dispatch as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Mature, enthusiastic, guests service & sales-oriented individual
• Excellent English verbal and written communication required
• Reservations experience required
• Heli skiing or backcountry skiing-related work experience an asset

• Ability to speak other languages (German, French, or Spanish particularly) an asset
• Knowledge of Revelstoke and surrounding areas an asset

ABILITIES REQUIRED

• The ability to multi-task and prioritize projects within deadlines
• Excellence in the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with respect to selling
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work with composure in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using RTP sales software an asset
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
