Jr. Interior Designer | Hospitality Projects
The design studio at Northland Properties specializes in creating exceptional hospitality interiors. Across our extensive portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and resorts, our interior designers focus on creating meaningful and effective guest environments.
Our Junior Interior Designers focus on interior design development for new-build and renovation projects. Their key duties include:
- Develop interior designs for multiple active projects in the ‘new build’ and ‘renovation’ construction pipeline, consistent with each project’s brand program, budget, and timeline.
- Align Design & Construction documents with compliance to Accessibility, Building Code, Brand, and Northland Properties standards.
- Lead creative development of interior design projects work, including;
- Interior space visualization, concept development, and rendering;
- Space and Furniture Plan programming;
- FF&E selection, specification, and documentation;
- Supplier resourcing;
- Digital mood boards and physical material boards creation;
- Visual presentations development;
- Owner & Executive Management presentations;
- Produce furniture plans, specifications, material selections and schedules for active projects.
- Source FF&E and interior finishes; work with suppliers to develop custom furnishings, review Shop Drawings, and provide support through production and installation.
- Develop comprehensive plans sets, including floor, furniture and finish plans; reflected ceiling plans; interior and millwork elevations, sections and details.
- Manage project documents, samples, and physical and digital filing systems.
- Coordinate with internal project teams on the progress of architectural design and construction drawings, interior design drawings, specifications schedule, cost estimates, and project reports.
- Develop technical specifications for construction documents.
- Develop project administration and information tracking documents; coordinate project meetings, facilitate project team communication.
- Provide support to site level construction teams; conduct site visits.
- Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
What are we looking for?
• A strong interest in Hotel and Restaurant Interior Design.
• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or a similar design-related field
• Versatile and flexible, with excellent creative and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Confidently able to present design concepts to Executive and Ownership-level decision-makers.
• Highly organized, with capacity to manage multiple projects at various stages of development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and professional work ethic.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
