Junior Accountant – Corporate

Description:
We are looking for a Junior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our Accounting Team, working with the Corporate Team.
This position will report to the Assistant Controller, Corporate.
Responsibilities
• Lead full cycle accounting responsibilities ensuring accurate and timely results are provided to the business
• Prepare periodic financial update and various other reports
• Liaise with operations management on accounting issues
• Responsible for complex balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain effective internal controls, identify risks and propose recommendations for required control changes as necessary
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, prioritizing automation where possible.
• Build great working relationships with the business to promote synergies
• Support the annual external financial statement audits and tax filing requirements
• Responsible for property taxes management and insurance for all brands
• Responsible for CAPEX accounting across multiple projects and initiatives
• Responsible for intercompany transactions between multiple legal entities
• Perform other accounting duties as required
Role Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA designation is not mandatory but is considered an asset
• Experience in a full-cycle accounting role with a strong working knowledge of GAAP
• Strong financial analysis skills and independent problem-solving
• Exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within established deadlines and time constraints
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to have fun and be a great team player
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and ERP systems (Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations experience would be considered an asset)
Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000 per year, dependent on education and experience.
