The MOBIA Specialist SA is a Technical Pre-Sales position that works closely with the MOBIA Sales and Account Management team as well as our Client Solution Architects to assist our customers in their evaluation of MOBIA, our technologies and our Services. The Specialist SA is responsible for assisting the Client SA in achieving the ‘Technical Win’ in our competitive engagements and is crucial to the growth and success of MOBIA across Canada.

A successful Specialist SA needs to possess a depth of technical aptitude in their area of expertise, coupled with a range of varied skills and experience in order to help our customers modernize their environments:
- Excellent Communication and Collaboration skills, the Specialist SA needs to be a deep technical evangelist within the sales team, to work alongside both the Client SA and the OCTO as required, to translate deep technical concepts into the client’s language and to develop the technical deliverables at various sales stages in their area of expertise.
- Specialist technical expertise, the Specialist SA needs to build a level of trust within the client organization and as such needs to be able to demonstrate knowledge expertise and thought leadership in their area of technical specialization:
- Areas of Specialist expertise would typically encompass one or more of the following:
- Cybersecurity principles, technologies and practice.
- AI & ML Models and the infrastructure needed to support both training and inference
- Network Solutions including the latest Wifi technologies.
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Solutions, Principles and Practice.
- Application Development.
- Infrastructure Modernisation and Automation
- Relationship Building, the Specialist SA needs to quickly build a trusting relationship within the aligned account team and with key customers.
- Time & Priority Management, competing priorities are a feature of the role and the Specialist SA needs to be able to balance and manage many competing priorities.
- Business Awareness, linking technology solutions to business outcomes is key to the success of the Specialist SA.
- Sales acumen, an understanding of how sales progress and how to successfully engage in the sales process alongside a project team.
- Lifelong learner, the Specialist SA is required to be a thought leader, to be constantly challenging the Status Quo and to be constantly looking for ways in which MOBIA can build a profitable and differentiated offering in their area of expertise.
- Finally, the Specialist SA needs to be a self-driven professional, passionate about how technology can change the world and curious about how to make it happen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the technical response to client engagements, from initial discovery through to technical close within the area of specialization.
- Engage appropriately with Client SA, Project Management, OCTO, Sales, Partners and customers to define the best solution for the customer requirement.
- Appropriately hand over the technical solution information to MOBIA or partner delivery teams.
- Gain and maintain high-level accreditations in technologies from MOBIA key technology partners.
- Develop and present technical solutions documentation including Statements of Work, Solution Proposals, and Presentations.
- Advocate socially in your area of expertise.
- Attend and present at technical conferences
- Attend regional partner and customer events as a technical authority as required.
- Reporting on the technical ‘stage’ in the sales process.
- Some regional, national and international travel to customer, partner and MOBIA offices may be required to fulfil this role.
- Other duties as required.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Post Secondary Degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
- At least 8 years’ Experience working in a highly technical IT Role (Delivery, Support, Architecture etc.).
- Selling experience or Sales training desirable in either an internal or external role.
- Experience creating and delivering technical presentations.
- IT Technical Accreditations in the area of technical specialization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail
- Ability to think critically
