001 - Program Coordinator
About the Role:
The Early Learning & Child Care (ELCC) Program Coordinator assists the ELCC team with essential operational processes to support citizens with ELCC related activities. This role involves developing secure data tracking systems, quality control measures, and reporting mechanisms for reviewing and tracking policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of Métis children. The coordinator will monitor program data and provide consistent reports to meet ELCC funding expectations. Additionally, the position collaborates with the ELCC Infrastructure and Partnership team to identify risks, determine requirements, and adapt processes to safeguard the interests of the MNO and its programs.
What you will be doing:
- Provide customer service support to citizens with ELCC related activities.
- Contribute to the associated program goals and objectives, as outlined in work plans or other documentation.
- Utilize functional knowledge and experience to develop and maintain secure, confidential data and tracking tools.
- Deal with confidential and sensitive issues in a timely manner, with tact and discretion as required.
- Perform administrative and support duties such as monitoring e-mail, information portals, shared secured drives, preparing program reports, or other materials to communicate and/or share knowledge and information.
- Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the funding requirements, programs and supports offered.
- Other reasonable duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a related field.
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and culture.
- A high degree of technology literacy and proficiency in standard office equipment.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Suite – particularly Excel.
- Strong communications skills – written and verbal.
- Superior organization skills and time/priority-management.
- Highly detail-oriented.
- Ability to work alone/independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated understanding of policies, processes, practices, and documentation used to safeguard children.
- Knowledge of Métis-specific and broader Indigenous key challenges, programs, and services available to address them.
- One year or more experience in a similar/comparable role.
- Experience with client case management systems, specifically quality assurance and data analytics.
- Experience dealing with confidential information.
- Bilingualism (considered an asset)
Positions at the MNO may require the following:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain
- Completion and maintenance of Vulnerable Sector Verification
- A reliable vehicle (or ability to rent), driver’s licence, $1,000,000 liability insurance, and a clean driving record
- Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary
- Ability to occasionally travel within Ontario for limited periods of time
