About the Role: 

 The prime objective of the ELCC Operations Developer is to assist the Early Learning and Child Care Manager and Supervisor(s) while performing the job duties outlined below.

What you will be doing: 

  • Effectively oversee the day-to-day assigned service and project activities within the I&P team
  • Assist internal and external partners with ELCC information and requesting resources and services
  • Complete assigned project tasks, monitor project progress and ensure milestones and deadlines are adhered to
  • Assist with the development of new proposed project development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation
  • Foster teamwork and co-operation
  • Collaboratively work with MNO staff, potential industry and government partners, and MNO contractors on the development of current and new project initiatives
  • Use office software and hardware to communicate and collaborate with Métis Citizens, MNO staff, and contractors
  • Assist in the coordination of the processing of financial administrative and operational procedures (i.e., purchase orders, expense claims, bill back submissions and purchase card reconciliation)
  • Travel to communities across Ontario to attend meetings and events.  This may require overnight stays in the community and a varied work schedule
  • Provide support to the I&P team to deliver workshops and presentations virtually and in communities when required
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for meetings, training, and events (location, travel arrangements, etc.)
  • Prepare meeting and briefing notes as required
  • Gather and provide project statistics as directed, establish, and maintain spreadsheets: OHATS; Survey Monkey Apply; Surveys; other applications as needed
  • Provides operational/ordering/shipping/ perspectives to the ELCC I&P workplan and logistical oversight for in-person ELCC meetings and events.
  • Works with and assists external partners and stakeholders at in-person ELCC events
  • Engage, develop, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders   
  • Promote Métis culture
  • Assist with the development of outreach strategies and marketing material for program and training promotion and delivery
  • Maintain an effective, confidential, and accountable filing system, to include: excel spreadsheets; OHATS; Databasics; Internal drives
  • Use case noting software (OHATS) to record, track and maintain up to date partner and stakeholder contacts and communications records.
  • Provide input and oversight on internal and external resource development
  • Some travel throughout the province and extended hours of work may be required for ELCC I&P meetings and events
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities as determined by Manager of Early Learning and Childcare

Qualifications: 

  • Post-Secondary education and/or 3 to 5 years’ experience working in an office environment or in an administrative role within an Early Childhood Program
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in event coordination, budgeting, program delivery and reporting, preferably in a non-profit setting
  • Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic/experience requirement
  • Well-developed administrative, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of program administration, budgeting/financial management, program planning, and coordinating
  • Demonstrated results-oriented skills and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of tact and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to present, facilitate and run virtual and in person events
  • Strong knowledge and application of keyboarding, Microsoft Office suite, various databases
  • Experience with standard office equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Early Childhood Education, child care licensing, ministry documents and policy involving Early Childhood Education (considered an asset)
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator designation from the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (considered an asset)
