About the Role:
The prime objective of the Accounts Receivable Coordinator is to oversee the processing of all invoices, deposits and cheques. The Accounts Receivable Coordinator produces adjusting journal entry input into GP Dynamics and performs a variety of other accounting related and general support tasks.
What you will be doing:
- Receive incoming cash, cheques and direct deposit information for contribution agreements, third parties, donations and other payments
- Deposit cheques on a weekly basis, or as required
- Prepare accounts receivable payment transactions and enter into GP Dynamics
- Contact provincial, federal and third party funders for payment on overdue accounts
- Prepare invoices for reimbursements and ensure required documentation is received
- Assist in the preparation of year-end working papers
- Maintain Accounts Receivable files
- Retrieve documents as required for audits/reviews
- Assist with the quarterly reconciliation of accounts receivable customer subledger
- Provide back-up to the other members of the Finance Branch as required
- Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong desire to act in the service of the Métis Citizens, to advance and uphold rights and culture
- Completion of post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- High degree of technology literacy and proficiency in standard office equipment
- Advanced communications skills
- Superior organization skills and time/priority-management
- Highly detail-oriented
- Ability to work alone/independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two or more years experience in a similar/comparable role
- Experience dealing with confidential information
- Experience working in coordinating and delivering programs and/or services
- Knowledge of indigenous (preferably Métis) culture, issues, and current activities
Positions at the MNO may require the following:
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain
- Completion and maintenance of Vulnerable Sector Verification
- A reliable vehicle (or ability to rent), driver’s licence, $1,000,000 liability insurance, and a clean driving record
- Flexibility to work extended hours as necessary
- Ability to occasionally travel within Ontario for limited periods of time
