Construction Project Coordinator
Egis Canada, a recognized leader of Contract Administration (CA), has been providing CA and Construction Inspection (CI) services to municipalities, the Ministry of Transportation Ontario, and private clients for nearly two decades. Egis Canada's CA team has evolved to include a multi-disciplinary team of project managers, contract administrators, inspection staff (senior and junior), and other technical support staff.
Egis Canada's Inspection teams are the “eyes and ears” of the owner. We consistently deliver construction in a timely and efficient manner, verify the contractor adheres to regulations and contract specifications, and ensure fair compensation is provided for completed work.
As the Construction Project Coordinator, you will provide administrative support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of construction projects. This includes maintaining payment verification records, clerical duties, coordinating administrative activities, and assisting with general office tasks.
- Evaluating construction projects from start to finish according to schedules, specifications and budget;
- Monitor progress of construction projects against established schedules, maintaining payment verification records updating submittal status logs and preparing meeting minutes;
- Develop and implement quality control programs;
- Represent the company on matters such as business services;
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedule to clients after inspection of construction projects and verifying quantities;
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients;
- Liaising with contractors and other stakeholders;
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- University degree or College diploma in Civil Engineering;
- Experience in engineering and construction inspection work;
- Experience in engineering and construction coordination/administration;
- Excellent communication, problem solving and attention to detail skills;
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance;
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including overnights and weekends, as required and travel to site locations within the area.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally in structural, watermain, asphalt and/or grade inspection on road and/or bridge construction projects;
- Demonstrated experience as a Construction Inspector on at least two (2) previous projects;
- Demonstrated experience as an Office Administrator or Project Coordinator on at least two (2) previous projects;
- Registered as an EIT, if applicable, or P. Eng. with PEO or rcsi with OACETT or ability to obtain this designation within six (6) months.
