McElhanney has an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate / Senior Civil Project Engineer with advanced proficiency in Civil 3D and demonstrated leadership skills to assist in designing and managing both municipal infrastructure and land development projects. This position is ideal for a Professional Engineer with significant experience who is looking to continue growing their design and project management skills. Our Victoria branch offers a wide array of McElhanney services including municipal, land development and structural engineering, land surveying and environmental consulting, working on projects both locally and in the greater Vancouver Island region.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide technical direction, engineering design, and design management of projects from proposal stage, through conceptual design, detailed design, and construction.
- Coordinate and/or complete the preparation of documents required for approvals, produce cost estimates, tender documents, and contracts.
- Work with team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for the creation and review of engineering designs, and MS Office for reports, proposals, and related documents.
- Generate invoices for clients and track against agreed client budgets.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams, providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
What You’ll Bring:
- A degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with strong technical skills and 5 – 15 years of related technical experience.
- Registration in good standing as a P.Eng in BC or ability to obtain registration through existing inter-jurisdictional agreements.
- Strong understanding of TAC and municipal engineering design and construction standards.
- Knowledge of MMCD and Construction Administration experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Scheduler), and Bluebeam (or Adobe Acrobat).
- Proven ability to attract and retain clients, win projects and consistently provide high quality deliverables on time and on budget.
- An aptitude for leadership, continuous learning, knowledge sharing and relationship building.

The salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
