About the Job:
We are looking for an outstanding Dental Assistant to join our team and add to our overall patient experience. The successful candidate will have a passion for building strong patient relationships and contributing to success of the office.
Schedule: Mon Wed Thurs 8:30-5:15 Tues 8:30-8:00 Fri 7:30-2:00
Location: Oasis Edward St
Responsibilities:
- Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour
- Clinical chairside assisting duties for a variety of dental procedures such as, but not limited to: general dentistry, endodontics, surgery
- Radiographs (as prescribed by the Dentist) or dental impressions as required
- Lab duties, as required (impressions, fabrication of mouthguards, etc.)
- Sterilization and disinfection with required reporting
- Ensure that the dentist you are assisting has the necessary dental supplies on hand to perform dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms in accordance with best practices of infection control
- Thorough understanding and respect of health and safety requirements
- Assist dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary
- Assist in updating and maintaining client dentalrecords and appointments
- Ensure all treatment consent forms have been completed and gathered
- Provide post-operative care instructions as required
- Ensuring all clinical and storage areas are clean and organized
- Monitor, maintain/order dental supply inventory on a weekly and monthly basis as required
- Identify gaps in clinical schedule and make recommendations to the Office Manager
- Collaborate with colleagues during down-time in schedule
- Attend continuing education events from time to time and as required
Requirements:
- Graduate from applicable Dental Assisting Program (Level II)
- Successful completion of the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB)
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail, organized and reliable
- Additional certification or training is an asset
