Job Description:
The Registered Pharmacy Technician will provide excellence in patient-centered care by ensuring patient safety through accuracy and quality of product preparation and release. You will collaborate with the pharmacists in the promotion of wellness, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and transcribe verbal prescriptions from practitioners
- Ensure that a prescription is complete and authentic
- Transfer prescriptions to and receive prescriptions from other pharmacies
- Prepare and process prescriptions by performing duties such as entering orders, counting, measuring, compounding, packaging, or repackaging medications
- Methadone dosing preparation
- Perform the final check of a prepared prescription
- Ensure the accuracy of drug and personal health information in patient records, while maintaining patient confidentiality and following legal/regulatory conditions
- Oversee Pharmacy Assistants to ensure efficient and safe prescription filling
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensed and in good standing with College of Pharmacists of Ontario
- Above average oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Excellent customer service skills
