Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Student to join our Saskatoon- Preston Ave, SK location at Pharmasave #477 Stonebridge.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Store Operator/Pharmacy Manager, and under the supervision of a pharmacist, this role is responsible for performing specific dispensing functions as outlined by provincial regulations and standards of practice.

• 8 to 12 hours per week.
• The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• There is also the potential for more hours during school breaks and part-time opportunities during the school year (flexible based on schedule).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The pharmacy student must always be under the supervision of a pharmacist. All dispensing functions performed by a pharmacy student must be carried out following provincial regulations and standards of practice.

• Filling, preparing and labelling prescription refills.
• Billing and adjudication.
• Compounding.
• Medication change management for compliance packaging for care home customers.
• Preparing care home orders for delivery.
• Communication with nursing staff at care homes.
• Assisting the pharmacist in their daily tasks.
• Locate the medication, select the prescription container, and count/pour the medication.
• Ensure that the original container, prescription container contents, and label are checked and initialled by the pharmacist.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Currently enrolled in the PharmD program at any level.
• Previous Retail Pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Kroll experience is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and have experience multi-tasking.
• Professional attitude and ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers.
• Due to this position’s sensitive nature, the successful candidate must complete a Criminal Record Check.

• 4-hour shift
• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Afternoon shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend as needed
