Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Staff Pharmacist to join our amazing team at IDA Pharmacy in Inuvik, NWT.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist will work to full scope of practice, enhancing patient health and wellness by administering safe, effective, and responsible drug therapy.  The Pharmacist will be instrumental in achieving departmental excellence through, implementing best practices, optimizing workflow efficiencies and staying attuned to evolving healthcare trends.

  • Determine appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitor medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, and interactions
  • Counsel patients regarding prescriptions, OTC products, and health related issues, including but not limited to; indications, contraindications, adverse effects, interactions, and appropriate storage and care
  • Answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment
  • Provide clinical services as appropriate for eligible patients
  • Administer injections/immunizations as needed
  • Promote health and wellness by providing education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence
  • Collaborate with team members and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
  • Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities
  • Adhere to federal, provincial, and territorial regulations governing pharmacy practice
  • Engage in continuous professional development; keeps knowledge and professional skills up-to-date
  • Other duties as required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized Canadian institution
  • Licensed and in good standing with provincial regulatory body
  • Injection certification is required
