Regional Sales Engineer

Reporting to the VP of Air Conditioning & Energy Solutions, this position is the key to Commercial Air Conditioning’s continuing success and growth. The incumbent must possess strong communication and technical skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishing a target list of key design engineers within the assigned territory and continuously refine
- Uncovering and calling on key decision makers in the market to drive LG growth
- Providing on-going training and education of design engineers, owners and contractors regarding Variable Refrigerant Flow technology and LG advantages
- Working with design engineers in laying out projects with LG as basis of design, utilizing our LATS design program
- Generating favorable LG specifications with design engineers
- Assisting engineers in energy consumption modeling for LG VRF versus competitive VRF and competitive traditional HVAC designs
- Assisting local independent representatives in driving and sales activities with design engineers, owners and contractors
- Tracking project status and following up
- Managing relationships with design engineers, independent LG representatives and distributors, building owners and mechanical contractors. Design engineer relationships are the primary customer focus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience as a Sales Engineer calling on consulting engineers in the HVAC industry. BC experience is preferable
- Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) and/or Professional Engineer (P. Eng) Designation
- Knowledge of VRF and LEED certification are desired
- Key Competencies: Job knowledge, teamwork, leadership, decision making, being customer oriented, execution (results oriented, interpersonal skills/communication)
- Proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Travel required within the assigned territory
- Experience presenting to higher levels within the organization, distributor management, engineers, developers, and contractors
