As the successful candidate, you must be able to provide mobile service in the province of BC on sprinkler systems (Repairs, maintenance and installations).   Ability to perform or learn to perform industrial and special hazard suppression work (Kidde IND, Clean Agent, Water Based Suppression).  Servicing of Fire Extinguishers and Emergency Lights with ASTT Certification will be an asset. 

 

Your role will include:

  • Providing professional services and maintaining good working relationships with customers
  • Maintain tools and clean service vehicles accordance with company standards and policies
  • Inspect, Install and service fire equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, FM & NFPA approvals
  • Maintain an updated inventory on the service truck, and service trailers at each site where applicable
  • May require working on shift rotation in covering on call emergency after hours calling, this will mean abstaining from any activity that will prevent you from being medically fit for normal work-related duties
  • Inside service work assistance as required
  • Obtain required manufacturer and jurisdictional certificates and demonstrate ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and correct problems as needed.
  • Attend and pass appropriate (Kidde, Ansul & Fogmaker) VFSS Training Course.
  • Extinguisher Training by ASTT for hand portable extinguishers (Understanding of NFPA-10)
  • Complete and hand in detailed and accurate paperwork, logs, and work-orders daily
  •  Attend toolbox talk daily and be involved in safety issues regarding you and others.  Report all hazards, incidents, injuries and near misses immediately. Adheres to mine and customer site safety regulations
  • Being a great team player with our BC Service and Sales group to work toward collaborative success
  • Promote professionalism and cleanliness while working on customer’s sites

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, and preferably a background and aptitude working with mechanical and electrical components.
  • Sprinkler fitter certification a must for this role
  • Ideally working Knowledge of Vehicle Systems, ideally Kidde, Ansul and Fogmaker
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience with fire extinguisher servicing (powder and cartridge)
  • You are naturally good with technology and are used to working with computers and mobile devices

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of performing all physical tasks associated with technician duties including carrying and lifting of weights up to 50lbs unassisted, reaching above shoulder height, bending, crouching, kneeling and working from ladders
  • Frequent walking throughout buildings and customer sites as well as climbing up and down stairs, and standing for extended periods
