Print Specialist
ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Graphic Sales Manager, the Print Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple print projects. This role is responsible for quoting, outsourcing of printed materials, creating production layouts, and ensuring the accuracy of all proofs provided to customers and vendors. The successful incumbent must have knowledge of all forms of print, such as litho, digital, and screen printing. They must be familiar with print layouts and have customer service experience in dealing with internal clients and vendor relations.
This is an onsite role, located at our office in Scarborough, Ontario. A valid driver’s license and vehicle are requirements for this position.
HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Work with GSM to determine optimal graphic project layouts (and/ or combined with other projects)
- Outsource print to our graphic partners
- Attends project hand-off meetings
- Issue graphic vendor purchase orders [“PO”] with special attention to PO details, including but not limited to pricing, delivery due dates and special instructions/ descriptions
- Ensure graphic materials arrive in accordance with desired and documented PO dates.
- Assist in overseeing internal graphic project proofing and provides final internal approvals
- Approving final graphic proofing
- Effectively utilizes project boards to ensure constant flow of communication and updates on project status and critical project information
- Works collaboratively and professionally with internal teams to execute on client deliverables
- Represents Harding as the subject matter expert [“SME”] for all company print needs
- Obtains a complete and thorough understanding of the project scope at project hand off in order to effectively and efficiently transition oversight of the graphic aspect of the project from the sales team to the Production team to ensure project success
- Holds the cross-functional team accountable to required timelines and works with the team to establish the impact, if any, on timelines when timeline deadlines are not met
- Proactively addresses and delivers solutions on project challenges in order to ensure On-Time In-Full delivery while maintaining quality standards
- Oversees print projects to ensure alignment with given budgets and scope
- Obtain multiple vendor quotes to optimize print costs on a project by project basis
- Appropriately controls print project scope changes, from quotation to production, to ensure project profitability estimates are maintained and/ or escalates issues and concerns to the Graphic Sales Manager when necessary
- Effectively and efficiently utilizes company resources
- All other duties as assigned from time to time
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- 3-5 years of print related experience
- Experience working with permanent and semi-permanent displays an asset
- Postsecondary Education with a focus on Print or Design Courses a strong asset
- Experience in printing methods including digital, litho, and screen printing
- Exceptional organization skills and able to work in a fast-paced setting with multiple projects and tight timelines
- Strong attention to detail, with an understanding of colours
- Digital asset management experience is an asset
- A true team player – friendly and willing to help out other departments when needed
- High level of commitment to exceptional customer service and relationship building
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic Illustrator knowledge is an asset
- Good proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT), MAC
- Standard business hours. Flexibility might be required at time
