Department: Financial Reporting & Capital Management
Term: Temporary Full-Time, Four (4) Month Contract
Work Term: May 5, 2025 – August 22, 2025
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
The Opportunity: We are looking for a dedicated and self-motivated individual to join our Financial Reporting and Capital Management team as an Actuarial Analyst. This individual should have strong communication skills and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced work environment during the quarter end reporting period.
The successful candidate will be offered an opportunity to acquire insurance, financial reporting and business knowledge as well as participate in handling practical applications of actuarial principles.

What you will be doing:
- Assist with quarterly financial reporting and analysis under IFRS 17
- Quantify and analyze the actuarial assumption changes impacts
- Assist in financial planning and analysis for Individual Non-Participating lines
- Prepare, review and update documentation to ensure procedures can be consistently followed
What you will bring:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program that includes a Co-operative (Co-op) work component
- A minimum of one SOA Exam preferred
- Previous exposure to Individual Life and Health Pricing is an asset
- Sound computer software knowledge, particularly in MS Excel and Visual Basic Macro writing
- Previous experience using GGY Axis is an asset
- The ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Flexibility to work 8 consecutive months
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
