Summary:
Reporting to President and CEO, the Vice President (VP) of Land Development will lead strategic planning, execution, and oversight land and community development projects for the organization. This role requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader with expertise in project management, market analysis, financial modeling, and team leadership. The VP will be responsible for identifying opportunities, securing approvals, managing development processes, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive real estate development strategy in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Identify and evaluate new development opportunities, including site servicing and feasibility analysis.
- Provide thought leadership on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics.
Project Management
- Oversee all phases of real estate development, including planning, design, permitting, construction, and delivery.
- Establish project timelines, budgets, and performance metrics; ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including engineers, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
Financial Oversight
- Monitor financial performance and ensure adherence to approved budgets and forecasts.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing real estate development team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Provide regular updates and presentations to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, government officials, and other key stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at public meetings, industry events, and other forums to promote projects and partnerships.
- Address community and stakeholder concerns, ensuring alignment with corporate social responsibility goals.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, real estate, business administration, urban planning, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in real estate development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale land development projects from inception to completion.
- Expertise in land development, site coordination and community design
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as Microsoft Office, project management tools, and financial modeling applications.
