Job Overview
As the Financial Analyst – Procurement you will be responsible for supporting activities such as budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and various analytical tasks. Work closely with Procurement to provide financial support for internal/external projects and sourcing events.
This role is permanent full-time with a standard 37.5 hour work week.
Key Responsibilities
- Support direct and indirect Procurement team with cost breakdowns from suppliers to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
- Scenario/strategical analysis of supplier proposals to understand financial implications of bid options.
- Spend analysis and validation of savings opportunities.
- Sourcing event support (preparation and review of results).
- Implementation of hierarchy into all reporting, updating as needed.
- Review of intended savings, days payable outstanding (DPO), versus actual (bridge with ERP).
- Contractual and shelf-life risk for direct packaging/ingredients.
- Responsible for various month end and quarterly activities (journal entries and supporting documentation).
- Purchase price variance (PPV), purchase order (PO) accrual revaluation, and inventory revaluation of raw material and finished goods (RM/FG).
- Accounting entry back-up upload into repository.
- Update Forecast file with latest results, understand future trends.
- Aid with monthly management deck
- Assist in budgeting process by working closely with Procurement and liaising with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain as needed.
- Throughout the year, maintain a clear vantage point on short-term / long-term goals that will need to be integrated into budget.
- Educate cross-functional departments (as required) on budget and methodologies.
- Special projects, as required.
- Aid in ERP (SAP) implementation.
- Ensure effective company controls are in place, monitored, and adhered to throughout the organization.
Recipe For Success
- Completion of university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of financial analysis experience.
- Completion of CPA or working towards.
- Job specific knowledge of consumer-packaged goods industry, with proven financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Results oriented with strong attention to detail, initiative, and independence (resourceful).
- Proven initiative and willingness to drive change, with a focus on innovation, process improvement, and problem solving.
