About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to support our Transformation team as a Manager, Indirect Procurement based in Shelton, CT. The Manager, Indirect Procurement is responsible for supporting global Indirect categories such as Marketing and Corporate services activities for all of Subway.  Leads in developing sourcing events and analyzing the supply market.  Contributes to new supplier selection processes and developing and maintaining supplier relationships.  Identifies corporate objectives and encourages internal functions to collaborate with each other and third-party service providers to create breakthrough, strategic operational capabilities that drive business outcomes that can result in real marketplace differentiation and competitive advantage.  Manages vendor management function in the Marketing categories for Global or North American vendors, will oversee the vendor relationships with all service providers and ensure that they are meeting company expectations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Identifies all program level risks, issues and mitigation plans communicating / escalating all relevant items to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure that existing services meet their service targets.
  • Be a driving force, inspiration and coordinator for continuous process improvements; help identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Interface with key stakeholders to understand business needs and develop a sourcing solution to match.
  • Set compelling strategies for these key categories and drive value for Subway with well executed plans addressing price, process and demand.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategy and savings in line with company strategy and procurement best-practices.
  • Leads Subway strategy in negotiating and executing contracts for Global and North American Marketing agency spend.
  • Develops relationships with key suppliers and engages them in strategic supplier management for value creation and innovation.
  • Partner with the business to ensure that all appropriate marketing spend is optimized and that we are driving cost reductions with continuous improvement.
  • Manage all Global Indirect spend categories under the direction of the Director, Marketing & Corporate to optimize spending for investment.
  • Optimize vendor management for key marketing vendors to ensure that the company is maximizing the strategic vendor relationships.
  • Build strong relationships with all business partners and suppliers.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Technical Field or equivalent experience managing a spend category.
  • Vendor management.
  • Global strategic sourcing.
  • Procure to Pay Process.
  • Solid team player.
  • Developing and maintaining commercial contracts.
  • Indirect Procurement experience.
  • Proven track record of working with multiple executive level stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including total cost analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that engage & inspire the team.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing & consulting skills- specifically in change & project management.
  • Ability to interface with Subway Leadership Team (ELT) members.
