Job Summary
The Head of People Operations is responsible for leading the company’s National People Operations (HRBP) team across Canada, enabling growth and operational performance, while elevating culture, leadership, and engagement as the organization moves from a period of hyper growth towards operational maturity. The Head of People Operations is an integral partner to the Operations team, ensuring the regions have a strong focus on inspiring our people and leading in patient and client care, fueling our growth and building a stronger network together.
They will have strong team development and leadership skills coupled with a performance-driven operational mindset. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is adaptable and flexible to changing priorities, and has a track record of supporting multi-unit organizations through transformation within a customer/client-facing colleague base. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role oversees a team of 8 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of Regional People Operations Managers, supporting HR within the hospital network and home office areas. Develop operational leaders and enable strong change management skills.

Talent Management & Change Leadership: Execute change initiatives, drive culture and engagement, lead talent mapping, and support strategic workforce planning. Ensure development and retention of top talent and partner with Talent Acquisition for team composition.

ER/LR/Policy: Lead proactive employee relations strategy, stay abreast of HR trends, provide counsel on policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with employment laws.
Skills & Qualifications

8-10 years of progressive HR experience, including leading a national team.

University degree or college diploma in HR, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field preferred. CHRP designation is an asset.

Strong knowledge of employment legislation and proven experience with employee relations, labour relations, and compliance.

Ability to travel as needed, including occasional overnight travel.

Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with peers, stakeholders, and field teams.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make well-informed decisions under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
