Lodging Housekeeping Manager

Panorama Mountain Resort is looking for the right person to lead one of the resorts largest departments.  They will develop and supervise the Housekeeping division to maintain Panorama’s standards in quality and professionalism.  They will develop and implement goals and policies for the Housekeeping Division and maintain open and positive communications with all staff, owners and guests.

 

Essential Functions:

Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.

Responsible for all in unit and facility common area cleaning

Accountable for the training, development, recognition and discipline of staff. 

Assist in the recruitment process as needed

Ensure staff are scheduled based on anticipated occupancy, group arrivals/departures, and special events to meet the demand for labour while remaining fiscally responsible

Purchase, re-order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory

Conduct inspections of units, carts, and storerooms to ensure completion of work and consistency of standards.

Provides courteous and sincere customer service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, request & complaints.

Ensures the proper maintenance of all equipment.

Work closely with the Front Desk, Rental Owner Services, Maintenance, Sales and Reservations to ensure the best service possible   

Responsible for creation and maintenance of housekeeping budget and business plan.

Review purchase orders, requisitions, and P&L's monthly to verify charges and maintain budget controls for housekeeping expenses. 

Enforce employee appearance and conduct standards and uphold the Resort Core Values

Ensure the maintenance and updating of training materials

Maintain working relationships with all clients and stakeholders and manage guest recovery scenarios

Knowledge of OH&S and safety standards within Housekeeping department

Other duties as assigned by Director of Lodging

 

Experience/Requirements:

Background in housekeeping and training a large number of people is essential. 

Two years of experience as a supervisor/manager in a busy resort / hotel environment is required.

Must have good public relations skills and can think quickly on your feet. 

Must be efficient in Microsoft office, experience working with a property management system is preferred.

Must be highly adaptable and flexible.

Strong organizational skills, time management, and a very good attention to detail are basic requirements for this position.

Patience, nurturing, and understanding of personnel is also critical.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 30 pounds and can stand on your feet for more than eight hours
